Questions we hear a lot
What actually happens if I never plug it in?
The car drives as a self-charging hybrid, using the petrol engine and regenerative braking to keep going. You lose the low running costs of EV mode, but you never lose the ability to drive.
Is this basically a normal hybrid, then?
Not quite — plug in and you get a real, usable electric-only range for daily driving, closer to a small EV. Don’t plug in and it behaves like a hybrid. It adapts to you rather than the other way round.
Will it manage Milford Sound or the Crown Range in winter?
Yes. Once the battery’s electric range is used, the petrol engine and hybrid system take over automatically — steep grades and cold weather included.
Can I charge it at home in Queenstown?
Yes, on a standard household socket or a home wallbox for faster charging. Our team can talk you through installation options during your test drive.
